Stephen began his career with PKF Consulting in Los Angeles and Coopers & Lybrand in Cleveland, Ohio, before managing the Development Planning and Market Feasibility department for Promus Hotels (now Hilton Hotels) between 1994-1996, for Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn. He joined Wyndham Hotels & Resorts when it went public in 1996 before joining and working for Marriott International for 12 years from 1997-2009 as Vice President of Lodging Development and ultimately becoming Senior Vice President of Lodging Development where he oversaw the phenomenal growth of Marriott in the Central and Eastern regions of the United States through “on balance sheet” development, management contracts and franchising. From there he worked with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts again and Omni Hotels & Resorts before joining Hyatt Hotels Corporation from 2015-2020 as Vice President, Corporate Development (United States & Canada) where he was responsible for corporate development, through the use of the company’s balance sheet and joint-ventures, of new Hyatt branded hotels, including Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Caption by Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, Thompson Hotels, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, Andaz, Miraval Resorts and Park Hyatt hotels. He then joined Carlisle, LLC as Senior Vice President – Development & Asset Management where he oversaw all development and asset management for the company’s hotel, multi-family and restaurant portfolio, before becoming Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development for AutoCamp from 2021-2023, an outdoor lifestyle hotel brand featuring accommodations in custom-designed Airstream trailers and luxury tents. He is now President of Red River Hospitality.
